Hero

I will never change no … not for anyone.

I am not afraid no… not of you.

When I was only three I had a dream that one day I would

Grow up to be Superman

Fight the evil man that rules this world.

I would grow strong. I would leap tall buildings in a single bound.

Fly faster than the speed of sound.

But those days are far behind me…..

I will never change no… not for anyone.

I will never find peace of mind in this.

When I was eighteen left my family to serve my country

To fight the evil man in the desert sands far away.

But as the bombs burst and the bullets fly I see a young child crying.

It’s a sad fact during the attack bullet hit her back now she lay there dying.

Those days will always haunt me and they constantly remind me

Of those clearer days when life just seemed so simple

Well if I cannot change the world then…. I’ll change my mind.

Those days will always haunt me and they constantly remind me

Of those clearer days when my life just seemed so simple

Well if I cannot change the world then…. Oh, I’ll change my m-m-m-mind.

When I was 23 joined a company to be rich and famous,

Drive the fancy cars, hang with movie stars and see the world.

But then one day when I went home I found my family leaving

And as they packed the car my son said Dad even though you’re never here,

You’re still my hero.

Those days are far behind me and they constantly remind me

Of what I need to change.

And that life just ain’t that simple

Well if I can’t change the world then…..I’ll change what’s mine!
